Who We're Looking For:
Join Aecon as a Senior Manager for the Telecom division, reporting to the General Manager. This role is pivotal in driving the operational, financial, and business development success of the division. The ideal candidate brings deep industry expertise, a strong background in ISP environments, and a passion for leading high-performing teams and growing business lines.

What You'll Do Here:
Provide strategic leadership across all phases of telecom projects—from concept to completion—with a focus on quality, safety, and profitability.Lead the full lifecycle of telecom design, ensuring alignment with engineering principles and constructability standards.Drive business development initiatives to expand Aecon’s telecom footprint, identify new market opportunities, and secure strategic partnerships.Develop and execute growth strategies for the division, aligning with corporate objectives and market trends.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams including project managers, engineers, designers, and subcontractors.Drive financial performance and ensure projects meet business plan targets through effective forecasting and cost management.Develop and implement succession planning and staff development strategies to build future leadership capacity.Lead contract negotiations with vendors and partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and favorable outcomes.Ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements for aerial and underground telecom design.Perform additional duties as required to support divisional goals.What You Bring to the Team:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; equivalent experience will be considered.10+ years of progressive experience in engineering, construction, and project management within the telecommunications sector.Strong understanding of Canadian engineering standards, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks.Proven experience working with major ISPs (e.g., Bell, Rogers, Telus, TelMAX) and navigating complex stakeholder environments.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.Experience leading design teams and managing project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint) and reporting dashboards.Strategic mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving and decision-making.Demonstrated success in business development
