Your future role on our team
You will lead or participate in all phases of mining projects, fromprefeasibility studies to commissioning, to provide expertise and high-quality consulting services for our clients. You will be key member of our multidisciplinary team of expertise, carry out high-tech process simulations and determine the equipment, tools and processes.
In addition, you will manage operational activities to support the department’s objectives on project delivery, growth and development, quality and the employee experience. As principal Engineer, you will participate in the practice initiatives and foster a work environment where employees feel engaged and challenged.

Work with a team of skilled engineers, designers and project support staff to deliver projects on time, on budget and to the quality standards expected of BBAManage a variety of cross-discipline teams to ensure cost effective, safe and timely completion of projects that meet or exceed client expectationsReview and approve process plant material balance, process design criteria, PFD’s, P&’s, plant layouts, technical specifications and technical evaluationsPrepare operating cost evaluationsLiaise with clients on a technical level and present reports, publications and presentations in a professional mannerManage the resource planning and assignment of work to team membersWork with employees to identify and schedule internal/external training opportunitiesLead the performance management process for team membersEnsure that all team members adhere to BBA’s 10 Golden Rules for health & safety and that this function is embedded within all the work that they doBe a champion of BBA valuesTraining component (15% of time)
Plan and manage internal meetings with team members and external meetings with other stakeholders or subcontractorsWork with employees to identify and schedule internal/external training opportunitiesEnsure that information circulates within the team and that members provide appropriate information, produced within the required timeframeAct as a mentor to young professionals within the groupBusiness Development component (5 to 10% of time)
Develop constructive business relationships during project execution in order to promote repeat businessPromote the sale of cross-services to its existing clientelePromote BBA's Mining and metal’s services, both internally with colleagues and externally with our clients and future clientsCorporate Component (5 to 10% of time)
Participate in the development and implementation of the Mineral processing & Extractive Metallurgy Group's strategies, in collaboration with senior management, to stimulate the development of the groupBe involved in innovation, new service development and communication projects for the Mineral processing & Extractive Metallurgy GroupSupport the Department Manager with change management and the communication of corporate initiativesDo your qualities and values match our corporate culture?

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical EngineeringRegistered as a Professional EngineerOver twelve (12) years of experience in gold, copper, green energy materials (lithium, graphite, etc.) or base metal operations and/or designGeneral areas of expertise include metallurgical test work planning/analysis, crushing, grinding, flotation, hydrometallurgy, water treatment, gravity separation, pressure oxidation, heap leaching, CIL/CIP and electrowinning/refiningStrong track record of successfully completed projects in the mining industryAvailable for occasional travel to domestic and international destinationsEnthusiasm and capacity for business development and corporate growthExperience with Microsoft Office…
