Réalis has a large experienced hydroelectric team (over 100 employees), mainly composed of engineers and technicians, located in Montreal and Vancouver. The team’s areas of activity include geotechnics and geology, civil engineering and structural, hydrology and hydraulics, mechanics and electricity. Our hydroelectric team covers the Canadian market, with occasional international projects. In this role you will take charge of technical mandates specific to hydroelectric structures including dams, spillways, and powerhouses.

Réalis is looking for a structural engineer to join a team dedicated to engineering works mainly targeting hydroelectric projects and who will be able to use their experience and expertise to support the client in decision‑making or to clarify needs. You will work within the engineering team for the analysis, design and rehabilitation of structures as part of dam, hydraulic works, building and bridge projects in the field of hydroelectricity.
- Structural design of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants and related structures (concrete and steel).
- Rehabilitation of hydraulic works, hydroelectric power plants and related structures.
- Multidisciplinary coordination, attending and leading design meetings (internally and with the client).
- Production of preliminary and detailed engineering, and preparation and/or verification of design calculations and associated calculation notes.
- Participation and supervision of the production of the main technical deliverables, i.e. design reports, structural drawings and technical specifications for calls for tenders and for construction.
- Follow‑up the works during construction.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural profile, or a Master's degree in civil engineering (asset).
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the design and rehabilitation of water retaining structures, bridges and civil engineering structures.
- Member of PEO or eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Canada.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); bilingualism is an asset.
- Knowledge of Ontario Power Generation standards is an asset.
