Job Summary
We are seeking experienced professionals interested in a future opportunity with TYLin as a Rail Systems Integration Lead; while interviews may not occur immediately, we are keen to connect with individuals who anticipate being ready to make a career move within the next three to six months.

The Rail Systems Integration Lead responsible for ensuring that all rail and transit subsystems—civil, systems, electrical, mechanical, digital, and operational—function together as a safe, reliable, and operable whole. This role supports both owner side advisory assignments and design build/alternative delivery engagements across Canada.

The successful candidate will lead systems engineering processes, manage interfaces, support verification and validation activities, and guide multidisciplinary teams through the full systems lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

Lead systems integration efforts across design, implementation, testing, and commissioning phases for major rail and transit projects.

Coordinate system interfaces between Signaling/CBTC, SCADA, Communications, Traction Power, and Rolling Stock teams

Develop integration strategies, interface control documents (ICDs), requirements traceability, and verification plans

Support V&V planning (PICO, FAT, SAT, SIT) and T&C readiness reviews.

Contribute to risk identification, RAMS, and system safety certification processes.

Review contractor submissions and support progressive/alternative delivery models.

Participate in design reviews, risk workshops, constructability assessments, and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.

Provide advisory support on systems integration best practices, delivery risks, and operations readiness strategies.

Collaborate with agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary TYLin teams.

What You’ll Bring

Degree in Electrical, Systems Engineering (or related field)

Minimum 10 years of experience in systems engineering and integration for Rail and Transit projects

Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, V‑model, and lifecycle management.

Familiarity with ISO/IEC 15288, IEEE 1220, CENELEC standards.

Experience with requirements management and tools like IBM DOORS.

Comprehensive understanding of transit subsystems (SCADA, Comms, Signaling, RAMS, Traction Power, FLS, M&E).

Experience in consulting engineering is an asset.

Strong communication, coordination, and technical writing skills.

INCOSE ASEP/CSEP certification is an asset

Involvement in systems integration for transit or rail extension projects, ideally under progressive or alternative delivery models.
