About the Opportunity

Vendor Oversight:  Collaborate with third‑party vendors to manage HFE deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable guidelines, engineering standards, design basis information, and operational documentation.

Design Review & Governance:  Provide oversight, review, and acceptance of vendor designs and deliverables for Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMI), including reports, verification and validation plans, conceptual designs, specifications, and workplans.

Analysis & Evaluation:  Prepare, review, and accept HFE analyses such as operational experience reviews, system function analysis, task allocation, workload assessments, workspace layout evaluations, usability testing, and validation reports.

Technical Recommendations:  Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to advise design leaders on modification‑specific documentation, including technical specifications, design drawings, manuals, and software requirements.

Installation & Commissioning Support:  Review construction completion declarations, commissioning reports and participate in oversight of vendor activities during walkdowns, meetings, and system readiness milestones.

Issue Resolution:  Identify, recommend, and track the resolution of significant HFE issues throughout refurbishment and modernization projects.

Verification & Validation:  Review integrated HMI verification and validation plans and results to ensure compliance with program objectives.

Training & Procedures Input:  Confirm that modification‑specific HFE documents are properly identified as inputs for training and operational procedures.

Regulatory Interface:  Provide support for regulatory interactions, including status updates, input to correspondence, and participation in inspection interviews.

Aggregate Analysis:  Conduct broader HFE assessments to evaluate cumulative impacts on staffing levels and operational readiness, ensuring integrated program goals are met.

About You

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Human Factors, or a related discipline.

Extensive experience in Human Factors Engineering, with demonstrated expertise in Human‑Machine Interface design and evaluation.

Proven ability to oversee vendor deliverables, conduct HFE analyses, and provide technical recommendations across all phases of engineering change.

Strong background in verification and validation processes, usability testing, and ergonomic assessments.

Experience supporting installation, commissioning and operational readiness activities.

Familiarity with nuclear or highly regulated industrial environments, including refurbishment and modernization projects.

Demonstrated competency in applying industry standards, guidelines and best practices for HFE.

Prior experience with specialized reactor or power plant systems is highly desirable.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.

Professional certifications or qualifications in Human Factors Engineering or related disciplines are an asset.

Pay Range
$69.31 - $79.31/hr
