About the ProjectThe Connect 6ix project is a consortium-led contract responsible for delivering the Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) package for the Ontario Line — a new 15.6 km rapid transit subway running across Toronto. This includes the trains, signaling, communications systems, and the operations and maintenance facility. Connect 6ix will also operate and maintain the line for 30 years.
About the JobWe are hiring a Senior Mechanical Coordinator to join the team on the RSSOM project.
What You Will Be Doing?- Assist the MEP Manager with mechanical estimates, quantity take-offs, scope reviews for mechanical trades, and scheduling of mechanical installation activities during pre-construction.
- During the design-assist phase, support the MEP Manager in reviewing mechanical progress drawing sets issued by consultants and tracking comments and responses.
- Coordinate and support the mechanical subcontractor on site throughout the duration of the project, from initial mobilization through completion.
- Work closely with the Superintendent on project logistics, temporary facilities, and sequencing of mechanical activities.
- Review mechanical shop drawings and submittals for materials and equipment against project specification requirements prior to installation.
- Monitor mechanical submittals and shop drawings, ensure completion of consultant reviews, and track installation progress.
- Coordinate mechanical activities, materials procurement, and related tasks with the Project Manager, Construction Coordinators, and field staff.
- Assist with the review of monthly mechanical subcontractor progress claims and report to the MEP Manager and site management.
- Minimum 3–5+ years of experience in building construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience supporting mechanical scopes including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
- Exposure to rail or transportation infrastructure projects is an asset.
- Familiarity with LEED or sustainable building construction is an asset.
- Working knowledge of construction sequencing and subcontractor coordination.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM coordination tools, and Bluebeam.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic project scheduling tools such as MS Project.
- Understanding of applicable building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Awareness of safety requirements when working near rail corridors or active infrastructure is an asset.

Successful candidates chosen for this position can expect to earn between $80,000-$110,000.
