The Alteryx Server Administrator is responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the Alteryx Server environment hosted on AWS EC2. This role ensures reliable platform performance, oversees system configuration and maintenance, and supports users across the enterprise. The administrator will manage Alteryx Server deployments built from a standardized AMI, maintain Windows Server components, and apply cloud engineering best practices to ensure a secure, scalable, and well-governed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, configure, and maintain Alteryx Server, including Gallery, Scheduler, Worker nodes, and service dependencies.
Manage server builds and updates using AWS EC2 AMIs and follow defined operational playbooks.
Monitor server performance, usage, and job execution; optimize resources and troubleshoot failures.
Maintain Windows Server OS components, including patching, services, networking, and vulnerability management.
Implement and support backup, logging, and security configurations following enterprise cloud standards.
Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure teams to support platform stability and roadmap initiatives.
Manage user provisioning, permissions, and workspace organization within Alteryx Server / Gallery.
Document environments, processes, and operational runbooks.
Required Skillsets
Alteryx Server Administration: installation, configuration, scaling, troubleshooting, Gallery management, Worker node configuration, service monitoring.
Windows Server Administration: system maintenance, performance tuning, patching, service management, Active Directory integration.
Cloud Engineering (AWS): EC2 management, AMIs, VPC networking basics, security groups, IAM principles, storage/configuration best practices.
Strong analytical problem solving skills and ability to support enterprise platforms in a structured, reliable manner.
On-call support one week every month. Must be able to troubleshoot and remedy issues with Alteryx, but also with DBT and Qlik Replicate.
