Who are you?
You are a seasoned Senior Estimator who specialises in infrastructure cost estimating with a minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience looking for the next step or are currently undertaking a comparable role in a similar environment.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, driven, and capable of working both independently and as part of a high-performing team. In this impactful role, you will be providing advice, leadership and direction, actively embedding and promoting the purpose, values, and vision of Turner & Townsend.
Job Description
As a Senior Estimator, you will be involved in:
Producing and presenting independent estimates, providing cost advice to key infrastructure clients ( aviation, transit, highways, etc.), developing complex engineering projects from feasibility/concept design up to detailed design (pre-tender estimates).
Review and validation of continuous estimate submissions from General Contractor(s) and providing associated cost advice to clients and stakeholders typically within a Progressive Design Build (PDB) project delivery environment.
When necessary, able challenge General Contractor’s cost build-ups and associated assumptions.
Providing costings of options and presenting these to project clients and stakeholders.
Providing cost reconciliation estimates including associated justification to be presented to project clients and key stakeholders.
Actively engaging in value engineering workshops to identify the cost savings and optimum solutions available for the client.
Participating in probabilistic risk assessment workshops to calculate cost impacts as part the Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) process
Producing cost benchmarks for validation and target-setting on major infrastructure projects.
Actively interfacing with project clients, key stakeholders, contractors, and consultants (engineering, etc.) providing cost advice during all project stages.
Working in close collaboration with high performing project teams to ensure expectations are managed adequately and clients’ goals are achieved.
Qualifications
Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering / Construction Management Degree and/or Certification or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in cost estimating positions across pre-contract/post-contract phases of infrastructure projects.
Membership of professional organisations is a bonus (, CIQS / RICS / AACE).
Knowledge and proficiency with estimating software used on major civil engineering projects.
Experience developing Target Price or assuring Target Price submissions as part of a PDB project delivery not essential but a bonus
Experience working as an estimator in the aviation sector not essential but a bonus.
