About the Role

The BIM Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the design and delivery of major infrastructure works, with a focus on digital integration and multidisciplinary coordination. The position involves managing model exchanges, ensuring design development and exchange compliance with BIM execution plans, supporting interoperability across design platforms and Common Data Environment (CDE), and facilitating collaboration between engineering and construction teams.

The BIM Coordinator will help maintain the integrity of project information, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and related project standards.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary design models (Civils, Structures, Architecture, MEP, and Electrification) within a Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Perform model federation, clash detection, and issue tracking using Navisworks and Synchro connected to Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Support design teams in model setup, work sharing, and troubleshooting across Revit, Civil 3D, and other design software.
  • Manage model exchanges and ensure alignment of geometry, data, and metadata with project requirements.
  • Facilitate BIM coordination meetings, prepare clash reports, and track design issues to resolution.
  • Validate models for compliance with project standards, including model health checks, naming conventions, and LOD/LOI requirements.
  • Produce coordinated 2D drawings, schedules, and extraction reports from models for design, permit, and construction purposes.
  • Ensure accurate phasing and sequencing of models for construction planning and turnover deliverables.
  • Collaborate with digital delivery, engineering, and construction teams to drive efficiency and innovation in model-based workflows.
What do we need from you
  • Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in BIM coordination for large‑scale infrastructure projects (Transit, Rail, Highways, Bridges, Aviation).
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Synchro, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360/ACC).
  • Experience with interoperability between multiple platforms (Revit, Civil 3D, Micro Station, IFC workflows) and platforms with CDE (e.g., ACC).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform clash detection, model federation, and issue tracking across multidisciplinary models.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian standards, codes, and guidelines related to design and construction documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of leading coordination meetings and liaising with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Highly detail‑oriented, with the ability to enforce data and model standards consistently.
  • Familiarity with scripting, visual programming (e.g., Dynamo), or automation workflows is considered an asset.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, collaborative mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced project environment.
