About DeepCoolAI
DeepCoolAI (DCAI) delivers high-efficiency liquid-cooling solutions, including Rear-Door Heat Exchangers (RDHx), Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), Load Banks, and Refill Carts, for hyperscale, HPC, and AI data centers. Our engineering hubs in Toronto and California combine mechanical innovation, robust electrical design, and AI-driven control to make liquid cooling practical at scale.
Role OverviewWe are hiring a dedicated Electrical Engineer to design and validate the power and wiring systems that drive our liquid-cooling product line. You will develop single-line diagrams, size power components, create UL/CSA-compliant wiring schematics, and ensure the safe and reliable delivery of power to pumps, fans, heaters, and auxiliary equipment. This role works closely with the Mechanical and Control Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop equipment single‑line and wiring diagrams for high voltage and low voltage, and AC and DC systems. 24 to 60
VDC, 90 to 270
VAC/1ph/50 to 60hz, and 380 to 480
VAC/3ph/ 50 to 60hz. - Perform load calculations, conductor sizing, thermal derating, and voltage‑drop analysis.
- Select and specify breakers, fuses, contractors, transformers, VFDs, soft‑starters, and power supplies.
- Design grounding, bonding, and shielding strategies for EMI/EMC compliance.
- Create UL 508A / CSA C22.2 and CE compliant panel and harness documentation in EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Conduct arc‑flash and short‑circuit studies; define PPE labeling and safety clearances.
- Collaborate with Control Engineers to interface power circuits with I/O and safety relays.
- Support prototype build, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and on‑site commissioning.
- Troubleshoot power issues (inrush, harmonics, overheating) and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare bills of material (BoMs), test procedures, and as‑built documentation for production release.
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering (Power or Electromechanical focus).
- 5+ years designing power distribution or motor‑drive systems for industrial or HVAC equipment.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar).
- Working knowledge of NEC, CEC, UL 508A, IEC 60204‑1, and CE/LVD directives.
- Hands‑on experience with motor starters, VFDs, soft‑starters, and over‑current protection.
- Experience conducting load calculations, short‑circuit, and arc‑flash studies.
- Strong understanding of grounding, shielding, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
- Excellent documentation and troubleshooting skills; comfortable at customer sites.
- Exposure to liquid‑cooling or HVAC equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, chillers).
- Experience with power monitoring, energy metering, and efficiency optimization.
- Familiarity with IEC 61000 EMC standards and compliance testing.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng./PE) or ability to obtain.
- Innovation – collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, pushing thermal and energy boundaries.
- Growth – lead electrical architecture across multiple new product platforms.
- Flexibility – remote‑friendly work culture and modern engineering toolchain.
