Site Assessment and Remediation (SAR)

Location – Great Vancouver Area (BC) and Great Toronto Area (ON).

Our National Hydrogeology and Geothermal Team is specialized in groundwater characterization, numerical groundwater modeling, groundwater resource assessment and impact analysis, contaminant hydrogeology, geothermal potential assessment, thermal response testing and geothermal system design. We support many sectors across Atkins

Réalis including transportation, infrastructure, water, defense, mining, industrial, nuclear, power & renewables.

We are seeking a Team Supervisor – Hydrogeology and Geothermal to join our team. The successful candidate will bring well-developed leadership skills to provide senior level technical direction and staff mentorship, managing a team of close to 10 staff comprising technical and professional staff at all levels of development and based in ON, MB, SK, AB and BC. They will also bring strong client management skills and the ability to collaborate with other Team Supervisors and the National Lead – Hydrogeology and Geothermal, to contribute to management initiatives.

Location

Lower Mainland (Greater Vancouver Area) or Greater Toronto Area preferred; other BC, AB, and ON office locations may be considered.

Your role
  • Oversee daily operations of the hydrogeology team, ensuring alignment with project priorities, quality expectations, and deadlines.
  • Review and validate technical deliverables, including conceptual models, analytical interpretations, field data, and reports, while promoting best practices in field investigations.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance support to team members, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing skills development.
  • Manage project resourcing, including workload planning, forecasting, and coordination across multiple projects and disciplines (geotechnical, environmental, geochemistry, geothermal, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety protocols, quality standards, and internal procedures while driving continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Support project managers and technical leads with scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and client communications.
  • Contribute to strategic growth initiatives and support key markets, including transportation, infrastructure, water, defense, mining, industrial, nuclear, and power & renewables, with emphasis on innovation and emerging hydrogeology services.
About You
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related Earth science field.
  • Licensed professional (P.Geo or P.Eng.) with more than 8 years of hydrogeology consulting experience, including managing staff and supporting client-facing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal regulations related to groundwater, water resources, and environmental compliance, with proven technical writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team building, mentoring, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders (clients, regulators, internal teams).
  • Experience in project management and/or team leadership is considered a strong asset.
  • Hydrogeological modelling and geothermal experience are considered assets.
  • English proficiency required;
    French bilingualism an asset.
Compensation Range

Expected compensation for this role is between $85, annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
