The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Director of Quality to build and lead the Quality organization at Sheba Microsystems. This is a critical leadership role responsible for establishing automotive‑grade quality systems, ensuring product reliability, and enabling the company’s transition from development to high‑volume production.

The ideal candidate combines strong automotive quality leadership experience with deep knowledge of semiconductor and MEMS manufacturing environments. You will work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to embed quality into every stage of product development and scaling.

Key Responsibilities Quality Leadership & Strategy
  • Define and execute the company’s Quality strategy aligned with automotive customer expectations.
  • Build, mentor, and lead the Quality organization, including QA, QE, SQE, customer quality, and reliability.
  • Establish scalable processes and governance suitable for rapid growth from startup to volume production.
Quality Systems & Compliance
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive core tools:
    APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans
    .
  • Drive internal audits, management reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Customer Quality
  • Serve as the primary Quality interface for Tier‑1 automotive customers.
  • Own customer deliverables including PPAP submissions, audits, and program quality reviews.
  • Lead customer issue resolution using structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions).
Product Qualification & Reliability
  • Define and execute qualification plans for automotive‑grade devices (AEC‑Q aligned where applicable).
  • Ensure robust quality gates from prototype through SOP and production ramp.
  • Support NPI and transfer‑to‑production readiness.
Supplier Quality & Operations
  • Develop supplier quality requirements for semiconductor/MEMS supply chains.
  • Lead supplier audits, performance management, and corrective action processes.
  • Partner with operations and manufacturing teams to improve yield, process capability, and defect reduction.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Supply Chain to embed quality into design and development.
  • Promote strong DFM/DFT practices and risk mitigation throughout product lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or related);
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Quality within semiconductors, MEMS, sensors, or advanced electronics.
  • 5+ years in automotive quality leadership roles within a Tier‑1 supplier or automotive semiconductor environment.
  • Deep expertise in automotive standards including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
    .
  • Strong working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC
    .
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis and data‑driven problem solving.
  • Proven ability to build and scale quality systems in startup or high‑growth environments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams.
