On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Mongo
DB Engineering Standards Specialist for an 8-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2-3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

This role will focus on Mongo
DB engineering standards, including the design of replica sets and sharded clusters, schema and index design, performance tuning, and security hardening. The Mongo
DB Engineering Standards Specialist will play a critical part in ensuring compliance and enhancing application performance while collaborating with application teams and overseeing release management.
- Design and implement Mongo
DB replica set and sharded cluster architectures tailored to application workloads. - Develop schema and indexing strategies aligned with document modeling patterns for optimal data access.
- Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning of Mongo
DB setups, managing IOPS, CPU, RAM, and storage needs. - Design comprehensive backup and restore strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Implement security hardening measures, including RBAC, encryption-at-rest, and compliance with CIS benchmarks.
- Build automated playbooks using Ansible for database provisioning, configuration, and OS hardening.
- Collaborate with application teams to review data modeling and performance optimization efforts.
- 5+ years of experience administering Mongo
DB in production environments, specifically with replica sets and sharded clusters. - 3+ years of experience using Ansible for automation within database environments.
- Strong expertise in Linux operating systems (RHEL/Ubuntu) and foundational knowledge of networking, storage, and TLS/PKI.
- Proficiency in scripting with Bash and/or Python for operational tooling.
- Experience with Ops Manager and Mongo
DB Atlas administration at scale. - Familiarity with compliance-driven environments and performance engineering best practices.
This is an 8-month contract position with the possibility of extension and full-time employment.
Assignment LocationToronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position with 2-3 days onsite per week.
