  • About the role:

    We are actively seeking an Environmental Technologist to join our Côté Gold Mine Site, reporting to the Environmental Supervisor.

    To ensure compliance with all regulations and operating permit requirements.

    Working closely with the Environmental Coordinators and Specialists in upholding a proactive stance towards all environmental matters and fostering positive relationships with regulatory bodies and the public.

    To facilitate on-site environmental sampling and reporting on various Environmental Monitoring Programs.

    To maintain field sampling logs and assist with data management and reporting functions.

    Working closely with the Environmental Coordinators and Specialists in upholding a proactive stance towards all environmental matters and fostering positive relationships with regulatory bodies and the public.

    To facilitate on-site environmental sampling and reporting on various Environmental Monitoring Programs.

    To maintain field sampling logs and assist with data management and reporting functions.

    Qualifications

    Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance for field programs, including the monitoring of surface water, groundwater, hydrology, and air quality.
  • Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) by supporting procedures, training, audits, and corrective actions, ensuring readiness for ISO 14001 or equivalent certification.
  • Ensure time-sensitive laboratory samples are properly packaged, shipped, and documented with accurate Chain of Custody forms.
  • Coordinate and assist third-party consultants during site visits for compliance monitoring and permitting activities.
  • Monitor site activities for potential environmental harm and recommend mitigation strategies or process improvements
  • Assist in preparing field reports, compliance memos, and management plans to meet provincial and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Manage environmental databases, including data entry, quality assurance, and maintaining digital and physical compliance files.
  • Conduct field inspections with regulatory agencies and deliver environmental training programs to staff and contractors.
  • Stay current on environmental legislation to help implement procedures that satisfy government operational requirements.
  • Key Skills & Knowledge:

  • Technical diploma in Environmental Studies.

  • Relevant

    Experience:

  • 1+ year of environmental and mining related experience.
  • Demonstrates experience operating various types of recreational vehicles and field instrumentation (ATV, Snowmachine, boat/motor, flow/water quality meter, GPS, laptops, data loggers)
  • Possesses a practical understanding of relevant Government Acts and Regulations
  • Demonstrates a solid comprehension of the environmental impacts associated with mining and milling operations and facilitates informed decision-making in relevant tasks and responsibilities.

    Salary Range: : $70,000-$106,200
