Job Description- Develops and manages Building Information Models (BIM) for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems within Aviation Design projects.
- Creates and maintains detailed 3D models of ICT systems (e.g., Inside and Outside (OSP) cabling, data centers, security systems) and Airport Special Systems including Airside and Landside Systems.
- Collaborates with The ICT Design Teams, program and project architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the ICT BIM model aligns with the overall Aviation Program design and construction requirements.
- Identifies and resolves clashes or conflicts between ICT systems and other disciplines in federated model.
- Conducts quality checks on BIM models and ensures accuracy and completeness of information.
- Generates ICT design and construction drawings, schedules, and reports based on design specification, mark ups, Information Model, project standards and requirements.
- Produce design-development, Issued-for-Permit and Issue-For-Construction schematics, models, drawings, details and schedules.
- Perform interdisciplinary and interface design coordination and clash detection using Navisworks with ACC model coordination interoperability.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date models reflecting the phased construction and turnover of geometrical and non-geometrical asset data.
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, ICT, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of ICT systems, including cabling, data centers, security systems, Airport Special Systems and relevant industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, BICSI).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in ICT/ELV BIM modelling, preferably within aviation projects and in transportation infrastructure.
- Proficient in BIM and digital delivery software/platforms including Revit (MEP/Systems), Civil 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk Construction Cloud and Aconex; experience with Micro Station is an asset.
- Strong understanding of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), including its API capabilities for automation, collaboration, and file management.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks Manage and ACC Coordination module.
- Demonstrated experience in 3D modelling and 2D drafting of aviation ICT systems such as structured cabling, fiber networks, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, PAVA, FIDS, and related airport operational systems.
- Skilled in developing coordinated ICT layouts for terminals, telecom rooms, equipment racks, and containment systems within complex aviation environments.
- Experienced in producing ICT equipment schedules, system diagrams, and construction-ready drawing packages directly from BIM models.
- Familiar with aviation-specific clearance, security, redundancy, and resilience requirements for airside and landside environments.
- Knowledge of applicable Canadian and aviation standards including Transport Canada requirements, ICAO Annex 14 (as applicable), CSA C22.1, OESC, NBCC/OBC, and local airport authority standards.
- Detail-oriented, compliance-focused, and collaborative, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary aviation project teams.
