Overview
As a member of our Municipal Infrastructure Group in the Engineering, Design and Project Management Division for Central Canada, you will be working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, primarily on a major Transit Rail project. As a Civil & Utilities Designer, in addition to civil design, you will have exposure to utilities, road, structural, traffic, environmental, geotechnical, foundations, geomatics, rail and electrical design during the course of our design assignments.
You will be overseeing and managing delivery of projects related to civil engineering from conception to detailed design, tendering and construction.
- Develop detailed civil and utilities engineering designs, drawings and analyses for civil infrastructure including earthworks, grading, roadworks, drainage, etc., from preliminary concepts, specifications, bid documents, engineering directives, and other data, according to client specifications for the projects.
- Prepare calculations, plans, profiles and cross-sections, presentations for the contract packages in collaboration with multi-discipline teams, construction staff and clients.
- Lead civil and utilities designs within a team consisting of engineers, engineering interns and CAD technicians in the planning, execution and management of civil, property, utilities and drainage design packages.
- Manage the design package delivery ensuring QA/QC, and compliance while following project budgets and timelines.
- Communicate with stakeholders and manage relationships, including making presentations to clients, authorities and management to present designs, proposals and address their needs and concerns.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is preferred.
- 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in Civil Engineering design in site civil works, underground utilities, stormwater drainage, structures, earthworks, and grading including preliminary and detailed design, drawings, cost estimate, specifications, and contract documents.
- Prior experience of working on Transit Rail projects would be an asset.
- Strong familiarity with civil, rail, transportation and drainage design standards and guidelines in Ontario and familiarity with municipal and provincial clients and approving agencies.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, InRoads/Open Roads, Autodesk Cloud (ACC).
- Valid Driver's License is required.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $100,000 - $135,000 annually (Only Applicable to Ontario). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
