OverviewWe are seeking an ITV / IVVQ Engineer to support the Montreal Blue Line metro expansion project for Hitachi Rail. The role will focus on Integration, Testing, Verification and Validation (ITV/IVVQ) activities for railway signalling systems, ensuring that system components meet all functional, technical, and safety requirements prior to deployment.
The engineer will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to review system requirements, develop and execute test procedures, and support system validation including customer witness testing.
Key Responsibilities- Review system and subsystem requirements and associated engineering documentation.
- Update and maintain testing procedures and validation documentation
. - Develop and execute test scenarios and test cases based on system requirements.
- Perform dry-run tests and validation activities before formal testing cycles.
- Support system integration testing and verification activities
. - Participate in customer witness testing and validation sessions
. - Collaborate with software, system engineering, and design teams to resolve issues identified during testing.
- Ensure testing activities comply with railway safety and regulatory standards
.
- Experience with railway signaling systems
, particularly CBTC (Communication-Based Train Control). - Familiarity with CENELEC railway safety standards
. - Strong understanding of requirements engineering and system specifications.
- Experience writing test scenarios, test cases, and validation procedures
. - Experience with manual and automated testing methodologies
. - Ability to analyze technical documentation and translate requirements into test cases.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams
. - Hybrid work model based in Toronto, Ontario
. - Occasional travel to testing sites or labs may be required to support validation activities.
