About the Role
The Manufacturing Technician – Assembly & Optical Assembly position is responsible for highly complex opto-mechanical assembly including aligning and bonding optical components. Operation of various precision optical equipment to assemble lenses with sound technical problem-solving skills. They perform final inspection of complicated optical elements and assemblies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex mechanical and optical schematics, ensuring precise execution of assembly, integration and testing procedures
- Execute
- Assemble, test, operation, and troubleshooting of complex optical mechanical assemblies following all established manufacturing processes and procedures in alignment with AS9100 standards - Diagnose and troubleshoot optical and mechanical components, including but not limited to lens and lens assemblies, motors, sensors and wire harness assemblies, to ensure optimal system performance and reliability
- Investigate and resolve faults by collaborating with senior technicians and engineers, contributing to continuous product development and process improvement
- Effectively manage multiple priorities, balancing assembly, testing, and troubleshooting tasks to meet critical project timelines and production goals
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration, work closely with Operation Engineers, production teams, and management to tackle complex technical challenges and drive innovative solutions
- Ensuring meticulous documentation, maintaining detailed records of maintenance, test results, troubleshooting efforts and implemented solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies in processes, recommending enhancements, and implementing best practices to optimize performance and workflow efficiency.
Required Capabilities
- Technical Proficiency – Strong ability to read and interpret optical & mechanical drawings and test procedures
- System Integration Expertise – Experience in assembling, configuring, and testing complex opto-mechanical or electro-mechanical systems
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics – Skilled in identifying, analyzing and resolving optical and mechanical issues
- Strong Collaboration & Communication – Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with engineers, production teams and management. Good English communication skills in both written and verbal that translate into working in a team-based environment.
