Short Summary
The Project Coordinator, Facilities and Engineering will be primarily responsible for the planning and coordination of all projects and initiatives undertaken by the Facilities and Engineering department. This includes, but is not limited to, management and execution of all small to medium sized projects and initiatives, ensuring the implementation of policies and practices, expenditures tracking, resource planning, and maintenance coordination system improvements.
This role will take charge of all documentation in the Facilities and Engineering department and develop improvements to the maintenance program. This position will lead technical assignments undertaken by the Facilities and Engineering department while under the direct supervision of the Engineering Project Manager. This position will have a shared responsibility to a large facilities team comprised of skilled trades, engineers, audio/visual staff, security, contractors, and contractors under 3rd party service level agreements.
Job Description
Support and lead the planning and coordination of all Facility and Engineering programs
Create and implement work instruction documents
Draft engineering scopes of work for all small to medium size engineering projects and initiatives
Draft and execute Construction Contracts. These skills will be taught to the successful candidate
Keep track of all procurement and resource planning documents for the department
Compilation and administration of asset documentation
Responsible for tracking and updating the Computer Maintenance Management System
Drafting of drawings including, but not limited to, floor plans, utilities, etc. Consolidation of all department activities for periodic report out
Apply procurement policy within the context of developing Request for Proposals and Vendor Master Service Agreements for products and professional services
Prepare, revise and review department procedures and guidelines
Develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, investigate and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence, as required
Facilite all prcurement and resource planning for the department which included all aspets of the procurement cycle. Develop and maintain record keeping system and procedures. Frequent collaboration with other departments to support their facilities and engineering requests, as required
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in the field of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Electrical is preferred, but Mechanical will be considered.
Must be registered, or eligible to register, as an Engineer In Training with Professional Engineers Ontario (“PEO”)
A minimu of 1-3 years of expereince in project managment
Relevant Engineering experience is an assest and an advanced level of Computer Aided Design skills through work or school projects
Experience in a facility and/or maintenance department an asset
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy workloads.
Must be able to function well under pressure and attend to emergencies.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Project
Working Conditions
Working in an office environment.Compensation & Benefits Recruitment range: $66,440 - $74,744*
