3) to support our client, a multinational technology corporation.

Overview:
• This is an operations engineering role intended to assist and supplement the existing operational engineers and management team.
• Demonstrate a proactive commitment to learning, growth, and skill development.
• Promote a culture of safety, security, and compliance across all data center operations.
• Collaborate with design, construction, and commissioning teams to test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of mechanical systems.
• Understand the design, functionality, and operational requirements of the data centers.
• Support 24x7x365 on-site data center operations and mechanical infrastructure.
• Serve as a technical authority for on-site operations related to large-scale, mission-critical mechanical systems, including system design and functionality.
• Lead the development and implementation of operational procedures to maintain highly redundant mechanical operations.
• Manage mechanical infrastructure across the data center campus, from large‑capacity facilities to multiple smaller sites.
Responsibilities:
• Review and approve MSOW documentation for third-party contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Analyze and monitor the performance of mechanical, HVAC, process, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.
• Lead emergency monitoring and response efforts using established emergency operating procedures (EOPs).
• Author, review, and approve operational procedures (SOPs, MOPs, EOPs) for planned and corrective work.
• Provide after-hours and on-call engineering escalation support, including on-site response when issues cannot be resolved remotely; escalation responsibilities are 24/7/365 as coordinated with operations management.
• Adhere to all safety and physical security procedures while performing work.
• Record daily operational readings for mechanical equipment through routine rounds and log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
• Oversee and execute operational procedures related to the design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of:
· BAS system maintenance and upgrades
· Process water systems
· Chillers
· Air handling units (AHUs)
· Heat exchangers
· Rotating and stationary equipment
· Fuel oil systems
· Emergency cooling measures during utility loss
• Establish and coordinate maintenance and safety procedures for redundant high-capacity cooling systems, diesel generators, UPS systems, fire systems, and secondary backup systems.
• Apply expert knowledge of Provincial Mechanical, Building, and Fire Codes, lockout/tagout standards, and ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME, and CSA standards.
• Demonstrate experience applying CSA Z462 in operational safety management.
• Review and interpret protective coordination and incident energy studies.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety systems.
• Lead troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of instrument sensors and calibration activities.
• Utilize building and power management systems (BAS, EPMS).
