Réalis also has a large international presence with over 700 bridge professionals globally, and involvement in some of the most complex structures in the world. The Bridges Department – Central Region, is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer (Bridges) for our team in Ontario. Reporting to the Manager, Bridges – Central Region, the engineer will be responsible for carrying out project management and structural lead in the field of bridges and structural engineering projects.
This will include the development, analysis, design, evaluation, inspection, and execution of various projects.
- Lead a structural design team for a variety of projects.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques and tools for solution of complex engineering challenges.
- Direct, coach, support and guide employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects.
- Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines.
- Prepare proposals and participate in business development including publications and conferences.
- Prepare structural designs and evaluations, and contract packages for the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) with key clients (MTO, Metrolinx, Municipalities and TTC), including current Ministry policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals.
- Experience with reviewing condition survey reports and making recommendations for rehabilitation strategy.
- Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a structural major). Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with PEO.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects with variety of complexity, type of bridge, size and scope.
- Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance‑of‑Way Association (AREMA) Code.
- Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, Staad Pro, ETABS, Bentley Project Wise and Microsoft Office applications.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $120,000 - $160,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
