Mechanical Engineer, Engineering Design & Technologists, Manufacturing Engineer, Civil Engineering
As an integral member of our mechanical department, your main role will be the preparation of mechanical designs, including the layout, modeling, and development of general arrangements and details for conveyors and associated heavy industrial structures, equipment, piping, ducting, and supports. Travel to job sites on a short-term basis for field measurements, condition inspections, or construction management may be required.
Mechanical/Piping/Materials Handling Designers- Formal education in design and drafting.
- Design and drafting experience relevant to design of process plants, marine terminals, wood processing plants, mines, and other industrial facilities.
- Proficiency in Solid Works, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Inventor, Navisworks, Revit or other similar software packages would also be an asset.
- A demonstrated ability to read, remember, and apply design criteria, industry standards, and client specifications.
- A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills.
- A valid BC driver’s license is considered an asset but is not required.
- Experience working in a steel fabrication shop is considered an asset but is not required.
- Experience conducting inspections and repairs at ports, marine terminals, and mines for a range of bulk material handling equipment is an asset.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and registration as an engineer in training or a professional engineer with EGBC.
- PE Registration in one or more US states is an asset.
- Experience working as a project engineer, field engineer, or package engineer is an asset.
