We are excited to announce a great opportunity with Jacobs:
Senior Environmental Regulatory Advisor. This role can be fulfilled in any Jacobs Canada office or telework location. The Senior Environmental Regulatory Advisor will be a key member of our Jacobs Canada Environmental Planning team and will be a liaison with our broader Jacobs team. This position will report to our Environmental Planning Director of Operations within the Jacobs Americas East Business Unit.

As a Senior Environmental Regulatory Advisor, you will be responsible for proactively raising the Jacobs brand and market position, both internally and externally, with regard to thought leadership, talent development, and strategic advising related to various regulatory, legislative, and government policy decisions that impact clients operating in the environmental planning, permitting, compliance, and liability management spaces.

Your core internal and external leadership responsibilities will include:
  • Shaping and driving our Environmental Regulatory strategy and growth focus to drive differentiated profitable growth in the near‑ and longer‑term
  • Guiding and implementing our market thought leadership activities to shape our differentiated brand, reputation, and value proposition externally
  • Facilitating, positioning, and engaging in partnership with our client account managers and sales team to ensure Jacobs is the preeminent, trusted partner of choice with targeted new and existing core clients for the development and delivery of complex environmental planning and permitting projects, largely related to significant infrastructure and capital opportunities
  • Engaging, inspiring, and mentoring within the community of environmental planning and permitting practitioners and subject matter experts, pursuit teams, and delivery teams, in partnership with our Business Unit leadership teams
  • Serving our clients with distinction, creating an environment that fosters life‑long learning, experimentation and innovation, and living our Jacobs brand each and every day
More specifically, your key responsibilities will include:
Strategy, Innovation, and Growth Focus
  • Develop strategy and tactics that focus on both near‑ and longer‑term profitable areas related to evolving legal, legislative, and regulatory environmental planning and permitting client needs; primary initial focus will be on the Canada market and client base, with as appropriate involvement or advisement in non‑Canada jurisdictions.
  • Stay abreast of environmental planning and permitting market trends, regulatory and legislative changes, court decisions, executive actions, and policy interpretation to continuously evaluate their impact on our clients and our evolving market offerings.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to identify, develop and actively engage and win top prospects (i.e., pursuit strategy development, identify key staffing, opportunities to de‑risk projects, proposal development and review).
  • Outside of the Environmental market areas, bridge across into our Water/Wastewater, Transportation, Energy & Power, and Advanced Manufacturing markets to enhance cross‑market capabilities and drive opportunities.
  • Position Jacobs as a thought leader in the Environmental Strategic Advisory market space by ensuring visibility and contributing to the industry’s body of knowledge (examples include, but are not limited to, speaking and participating in high‑impact conferences and events, publishing white papers, delivering podcasts, webinars, et cetera).
