Become a pivotal part of Alstom as their full-time Commodity Buyer in Toronto, Ontario. Utilize your procurement expertise to drive innovative solutions and enhance supplier performance.
This role requires managing supplier contracts and contributing to the Civil Works procurement strategy. Collaborate with teams across engineering and project management to ensure high-quality supplier performance while fulfilling QCDT objectives. You will be influential in developing strong supplier relationships and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage supplier selection and contract processes
• Support the Civil Works project management
• Drive commodity strategy and build supplier panels
• Negotiate effectively with top suppliers
• Monitor procurement project developments and quality
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• 5 to 10 years’ industry experience with 3 in purchasing
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., GSI)
• Results-oriented with a proactive mindset
