EV Charging Specialist - Testing & Validation

We currently have a role as a EV Charging Specialist - Testing & Validation with our multinational EV manufacturing client.Role: EV Charging Specialist - Testing & Validation Type: Fulltime, Perm Location: North York, ON Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 (total comp range) based on experience. Some flexibility in the total comp plan can be made for a senior level candidate.
We are helping organizations transition to sustainable transportation through innovative electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. We are seeking a knowledgeable and client-focused EV Charging Specialist - Testing & Validation to support the testing, deployment, and management of EV charging infrastructure projects for our EV manufacturing client in North York.
Key Responsibilities- Develop vehicle test strategies and plans for the Canadian market, prepare test plans (DVP) covering performance, durability, environmental adaptability, EV/electronics, and safety validation.
- Coordinate road tests, bench tests, environmental chambers and resources; control schedule, budget and quality to ensure on-time delivery.
- Lead test execution, data collection and analysis, track issue closure, and deliver formal test reports to support engineering changes and mass production decisions.
- Liaise with local Canadian certification bodies and third-party labs to ensure compliance with CMVSS, environmental and safety regulations for market access.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Procurement to drive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Establish test processes, standards and databases to improve validation efficiency and data traceability.
- Have good understanding of regulatory, industrial standards and OEM's requirements in EV charging application.
- Collect and analyze the consumer data, and communicate with product development team.
- Familiar with system engineering approach for product development.
- Experience with typical field issues in EV charging and support trouble shooting and technical resolution.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Sustainability, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 7+ years of industry experience in auto/EV field.
- 3+ years of experience in EV charging infrastructure with a good understanding of test strategies, plans and execution.
- Understanding of EV charging standards including Level 2, DC Fast Charging, OCPP, and networked charging systems.
- Knowledge of Canadian or U.S. electrical codes and utility interconnection processes.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, load calculations, panel capacity, and utility coordination.
- Experience working with commercial or residential electrical installations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites when required.
