Environmental Specialist in Major Projects

Aecon is seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to lead initiatives on significant infrastructure projects across the GTA. Drive environmental compliance and support sustainability efforts in construction.

In this supervisory position, you will be responsible for managing environmental compliance, implementing the Environmental Management System, and collaborating with project teams. Your expertise will ensure adherence to regulations while overseeing environmental aspects such as monitoring, documentation, and risk management practices. Take charge of environmental audits and improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations of the Environmental Management System

• Act as primary liaison on environmental compliance with stakeholders

• Coordinate environmental audits and monitor compliance measures

• Develop environmental procedures and training modules

• Author reports and environmental plans for project submissions

Requirements:

• 5+ years in construction, focusing on environmental management

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or similar

• Proven management experience in transit projects in Ontario

• Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and assessments

• Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills
