Who we are?
The Primary Construction Team consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).
What is the project?The Ontario Line (“OL”) is a fully integrated, stand‑alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds. The Northern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (“NC”) project consists of approximately 7 km of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design‑build contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract (“PTUS”), with supporting Early Works.
Whatis the Opportunity?
The Contracts Coordinator is pivotal in managing contractual agreements, overseeing contract administration processes, facilitating communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. By effectively managing contracts and related activities, the Contracts Coordinator contributes to the successful execution and delivery of the project within established parameters and objectives.
Responsibilities- Oversee and manage all contractual agreements between the project owner, stakeholders, and various contractors involved in the project.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, including potential liabilities, obligations, and exposures that may impact project outcomes.
- Supervise and carry out the administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including monitoring contract performance, tracking milestones, and managing deliverables.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely execution of contractual obligations and adherence to project schedules.
- Ensure that contracts are accurately drafted, reviewed, and executed in accordance with project requirements and legal standards.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, legal requirements, and regulatory standards applicable to the construction industry.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of contracts including key terms, expiration dates and renewal options.
- Prepare, review, and issue formal correspondence, including notices, requests, and responses, to stakeholders, contractors, and clients in compliance with contract requirements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Process and manage change orders, variations, and amendments to existing contracts as necessary.
- Review proposed changes, assess their impact on project scope, schedule, and budget, and negotiate terms and conditions with relevant parties.
- Handle contract-related claims, disputes, and conflicts that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with legal counsel, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve disputes in a timely and amicable manner, minimizing disruption to project progress.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contractual documents, correspondence, and communications related to the project.
- Organize contract files, amendments, and other documentation in a structured manner for easy retrieval and reference.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters, liaising between project stakeholders, contractors, and legal advisors as needed.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on contract terms and project objectives.
- Implement best practices, standard operating procedures, and tools to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in contract administration.
- Support the Contracts Manager with any other daily commercial/contractual activities as needed.
- This role requires a strong sense of accountability, exceptional attention to detail, and a demonstrated commitment to advancing in commercial/contract departments within the construction industry.
