Arcadis is seeking a qualified Site Supervisor – MEP to support the Construction Phase Services (CPS) Lead in delivering engineering services during construction for rail, transit, and major infrastructure projects (rail and transit experience is mandatory). The Site Supervisor – MEP will provide field-based construction observation and technical support to ensure that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems are installed in accordance with Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and the overall design intent.
Working closely with the CPS Lead, Engineer of Record (EOR), contractors, and project stakeholders, the Site Supervisor will monitor installation activities related to mechanical, electrical, and building systems and verify compliance with design requirements and quality standards. The role will support effective coordination between the design and construction teams and assist in identifying and resolving potential technical or interface issues between MEP systems and other infrastructure components.
This role is suited for a technically oriented professional with strong field experience on complex infrastructure projects involving MEP systems within transit stations, underground facilities, Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facilities (OMSF), and other rail-related infrastructure.
The Site Supervisor – MEP will perform regular site surveillance and construction observations of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works to verify that contractor activities are carried out in accordance with IFC drawings, project specifications, approved shop drawings, and applicable codes and standards.
The role will monitor the installation of mechanical systems such as HVAC equipment, ventilation systems, pumps, fire protection systems, communications, transit signals, and associated piping infrastructure. The Site Supervisor will also observe installation of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting systems, cable containment, grounding systems, and equipment installations. Plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, and associated building services infrastructure will also be monitored.
The Site Supervisor will verify proper installation of MEP components and interfaces with civil, structural, architectural, signaling, and traction power systems. The role will assist in identifying potential clashes or installation issues and facilitate coordination with the design and construction teams.
The Site Supervisor will document field observations in accordance with Construction Phase Services procedures and maintain accurate records of inspections, including hold points and witness points identified within Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Detailed site surveillance reports will be prepared, including written documentation and photographic records of construction progress and observations.
The role will include maintaining inspection and surveillance tracking tools to support the CPS team in monitoring construction progress, inspection status, documentation requirements, and outstanding technical actions. The Site Supervisor will identify potential non-conformances or design-related issues and communicate these to the CPS Lead, Engineer of Record, and project team.
The Site Supervisor will coordinate with contractor representatives to facilitate site inspections and support the resolution of Requests for Information (RFIs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Field Change Requests related to MEP works. The role may also assist the design team with the review of shop drawings, material submittals, and Inspection and Test Plans as they relate to site implementation.
