Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Tunnel Engineer located in Toronto, ON. The Tunnel Engineer will work on the design, analysis, and execution of tunneling and underground infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include tasks related to excavation planning, tunnel and underground structure design, rock mechanics analysis, and geotechnical investigations. The engineer will also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, support construction activities, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications- Proficiency in Tunnel Engineering and design of Underground Structures
- Experience in Excavation and associated techniques
- Strong understanding of Rock Mechanics and its application to tunneling projects
- Expertise in Geotechnical Engineering and soil-structure interaction
- Proficiency with engineering software and modeling tools for tunnel design and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and problem-solving in complex engineering environments
- Engineering degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering; advanced degree is a bonus
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or eligibility for professional licensure is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and project management skills
