Job Title
Energy Efficiency – Engineer in Training
Location & Pay RateToronto, ON (Hybrid)
$35–$38/hr on T4
Job SummaryWe are seeking an Energy Efficiency – Engineer in Training to support commercial energy efficiency initiatives. The successful candidate will work with customers, contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal teams to identify and implement energy-saving opportunities while supporting project delivery and program objectives.
Responsibilities- Support commercial energy efficiency targets.
- Develop basic technical solutions and complete energy efficiency calculations for assigned customers.
- Build working relationships with customers to support energy‑saving goals.
- Work with contractors, equipment suppliers, and engineers to deliver energy efficiency projects.
- Conduct customer outreach and site walkthroughs to identify energy‑saving opportunities.
- Create and maintain account plans, project forecasts, and performance updates.
- Enter and track projects accurately in DSM systems and assist with audits when required.
- Work closely with internal teams to complete work safely and on time.
- Support and present energy efficiency programs at customer meetings and events.
- University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Environmental, or Chemical preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience in engineering, energy, HVAC, or building‑related roles.
- Basic understanding of energy management and commercial building systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, customer‑focused, and able to work independently and within a team.
- Comfortable presenting technical information to customers.
- Valid driver's license with a responsible driving record.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or equivalent status with PEO.
- Exposure to HVAC, boilers, BAS controls, or building construction.
- Interest in energy management or sustainability certifications.
- Approximately 50% office‑based and 50% field‑based work.
- Regular travel within Ontario, including occasional overnight stays.
- Frequent site visits to assess energy‑efficiency opportunities.
- Valid Ontario G‑Class driver's license required.
- Daily/weekly travel within the GTA area.
- Access to a personal vehicle required.
