Mechanical Engineer in AI Packaging

Lightmatter is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to innovate packaging for AI technologies. Utilize your expertise in Finite Element Analysis and mechanical design to enhance performance standards. This role focuses on creating packaging solutions that set benchmarks in AI systems.

You will perform structural analysis, identify failure modes, and implement design studies to improve product performance. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment between packaging solutions and manufacturing capabilities.

• Create mechanical models and conduct integrity assessments
• Execute geometric tolerance analysis and CAD modeling
• Conduct finite element analysis for design trade‑offs
• Influence design decisions based on manufacturing insights
• Generate comprehensive modeling reports

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and FEA
• Proficient in Solid Works or AutoCAD
• Expertise in GD&T; and tolerance stack‑up
• Familiarity with semiconductor packaging technologies
