About the Role

The Senior Resource and Mine Planning Manager for the Central Canada region will be responsible for accurately assessing and estimating aggregate reserves and resources, ensuring annual reporting and filings meet SEC SK-1300 compliance, leading a team of resource professionals and collaborating with key functional groups to provide operational support, geological assessments, and generate mining plans to maximize resource utilization and reduce costs while ensuring operational safety.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately assess and estimate aggregate reserves and resources for the Central Canada region.
  • Ensure annual reporting and filings meet SEC SK-1300 regulations.
  • Lead a team of resource professionals and manage consultants and contractors conducting geological investigations and building models.
  • Develop short‑term and long‑term mining plans in collaboration with Operations and other functional groups to optimize stripping, extraction, and progressive rehabilitation activities.
  • Collaborate with local business units and functional teams on the implementation of mining plans and monitor progress.
  • Provide ongoing operational support to local business units, including development and review of annual operational plans and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with the Land Management team to identify and map current resource opportunities and lead due‑diligence activities.
  • Support Land and Environmental permitting processes.
  • Collaborate with safety, manufacturing, and operations groups to ensure safe mining design and compliance with all acts and regulations.
  • Routinely visit and inspect site operations and address geotechnical and slope‑stability risks.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit the required behaviours.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mining engineering, geological engineering, geo‑sciences, or a similar field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of work experience in the mining or construction materials industry.
  • Certifications: Professional engineering or geoscience certification (must possess P.Eng or P.Geo).

    Skills:

    Proficiency in resource estimation, mine planning, and geological software (Vulcan or Carlson preferred), GIS mapping (ArcGIS), and 3‑D modeling; solid project‑management, self‑starter, disciplined and process‑oriented; robust analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to create professional presentations.
  • Additional Requirements: Working knowledge of mine‑planning regulations and best practices; willingness to travel to sites 20‑40% of the time (mostly day trips); adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of company‑approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face.
