- Salary Range: $127,325 - $177,325 annually (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)
Bechtel is appointed as the Delivery Partner, supporting our customer Metrolinx as part of an integrated team, to help deliver the signature Ontario Line Subway Project, a transformational transit project for the Greater Toronto Area. The multi-billion-dollar project scope includes the design, build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by two Public/Private Partnership (P3) Contractors, two Progressive Design Build Contractors and multiple advanced/early works contractors.
Job SummaryIn this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time.
MajorResponsibilities
- Manages the preparation of subject-specific schedules on an as-required basis.
- The Planner will provide schedule extracts, schedule analysis and planning expertise in support of the Metrolinx/Delivery Partner goals.
- Supports development of scheduling standards and procedures.
- Compiles, summarizes, updates, and maintains historical schedule data.
- Monitors and reports the critical path and schedule performance of the total project.
- Prepares and analyzes comparisons of scope, and quantities between projects.
- Develops bid evaluation schedule criteria and prepares bid evaluations.
- May participate in discussions with vendors.
- Coordinates development of bulk commodity installation curves.
- Integrates appropriate manpower requirements for each discipline/specialty relative to the overall project needs.
- Determines quantity and manpower levels in support of the project needs and schedule philosophy.
- Directs schedule analysis/study and problem-solving activities.
- Develops and interprets guidelines applicable to the analysis function.
- Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility.
- Responsible for issuing reports required by Ontario Line management and project procedures.
- Coordinates information input into specific studies.
- Responsible for integration of activities and total work scope identification.
- Evaluates study results and recommends conclusions for project team consideration and discussion.
- Supervises/directs project schedule staffing and quantity reporting.
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience with an emphasis on project planning in the Engineering and Construction industry. Primavera P6 experience required.
- Experience representing the client and reviewing / integrating contractor schedules required.
- Experience and demonstrated skill in planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
- Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for project planning and scheduling activities. Preference given to experience managing heavy civil and rail projects.
- Skilled in oral and written communication, with a demonstrated ability to present planning and scheduling information to management and clients.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.
- Knowledgeable about current industry developments.
- Expert analytical and computer skills required.
