Fluids Analyst

We are looking for a Fluids Analyst with a keen interest in computational fluid dynamics modelling and wind engineering to join our Environmental and Building Physics team in Toronto, ON.

• Use analytical and numerical methods such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and energetic thermal modelling to solve clients’ most difficult challenges.
• Perform and report wind engineering studies to determine structural wind loads, pedestrian comfort, urban heat island, and microclimate characteristics.
• Conduct studies to understand the risk posed by natural hazards and the physical threat of climate change.
• Collaborate with other engineers and consultants on innovative buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Work on defined tasks under the supervision of a senior engineer.

• Minimum 4-year bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering with emphasis on fluid mechanics or wind engineering.
• Fundamental knowledge of fluid mechanics.
• Basic understanding of computer programming and/or coding experience.
• Interest in the built workplace and the design of sustainable infrastructure.
• Eligibility to work in Canada without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Proficiency in OpenFOAM and/or Ansys CFD software.
• Experience or familiarity with the built environment (buildings, transportation infrastructure, civil infrastructure).
• Masters or PhD in engineering desirable but not required.
• Cover letter preferred.

• Base salary range for Toronto: $85,000 – $95,000 per year.
