We are looking for a Fluids Analyst with a keen interest in computational fluid dynamics modelling and wind engineering to join our Environmental and Building Physics team in Toronto, ON.
Responsibilities- Use analytical and numerical methods such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and energetic thermal modelling to solve clients’ most difficult challenges.
- Perform and report wind engineering studies to determine structural wind loads, pedestrian comfort, urban heat island, and microclimate characteristics.
- Conduct studies to understand the risk posed by natural hazards and the physical threat of climate change.
- Collaborate with other engineers and consultants on innovative buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Work on defined tasks under the supervision of a senior engineer.
- Minimum 4-year bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering with emphasis on fluid mechanics or wind engineering.
- Fundamental knowledge of fluid mechanics.
- Basic understanding of computer programming and/or coding experience.
- Interest in the built workplace and the design of sustainable infrastructure.
- Eligibility to work in Canada without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in OpenFOAM and/or Ansys CFD software.
- Experience or familiarity with the built environment (buildings, transportation infrastructure, civil infrastructure).
- Masters or PhD in engineering desirable but not required.
- Cover letter preferred.
- Base salary range for Toronto: $85,000 – $95,000 per year.
