Physical Design Engineer at Cadence

Join Cadence as a Physical Design Engineer II to tackle low power and high-speed designs. Collaborate with teams on innovative PHY IP physical design methodologies and successful tapeouts.

As a valued engineer, you will participate in next-generation physical design and flow development with advanced technology nodes. This role requires hands-on physical design implementation including floor planning and timing closure, working closely with RTL and Analog design teams. Your expertise will drive the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead physical design methodology and flow development

• Implement DRC, LVS, and antenna checks diligently

• Perform floor planning and power grid design

• Execute place & route and clock tree synthesis

• Ensure static timing analysis and power/signal integrity

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in EE/CS/IT with 3+ years experience

• Knowledge of N7/N5 design rules and scripting languages

• Proven skills in fixing physical design violations

• Strong communication abilities with a teamwork focus

• Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset
