Engineer​/Scientist - Used Fuel Transport

NWMO is seeking an Engineer/Scientist to join the Used Fuel Transportation team in Ignace, Ontario. This role is vital for the safe management and transport of nuclear waste materials.

In this position, you will report to the Manager of Used Fuel Transportation and be involved in developing strategic transport solutions over a multi-decade timeline. Your expertise will ensure compliance and safety while coordinating with various engineering sectors to enhance project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advance NWMO’s used fuel transport program

• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation

• Collaborate on transportation design assumptions

• Manage contracts related to transportation logistics

• Achieve project quality through detailed reviews

Requirements:

• Relevant four-year engineering degree

• At least 2 years of experience in nuclear or transport fields

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team

• Knowledge of Canadian nuclear transport regulations
