Project Opportunity
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd., chosen by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rails and Systems (SSE‑SRS) package. The extension will bring TTC Line 2 service nearly eight kilometres further into Scarborough, extending from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, replacing Line 3 (the Scarborough RT) and improving transit for jobs, schools, and key destinations.

FCC is looking for an Electrical Quality Coordinator to join the team.

Position Summary
The Electrical Quality Coordinator supports the delivery of high‑quality electrical systems in accordance with project specifications and the Quality Management System (QMS), focusing on compliance, construction execution, and quality outcomes across all electrical activities.

Systems Quality Manager

Main Responsibilities

Oversee quality control & assurance requirements for electrical systems as defined by the Project Agreement and QMS.

Support implementation and continuous improvement of the QMS.

Prepare, review, and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for electrical scopes prior to construction.

Coordinate and verify inspection, testing, and commissioning activities for electrical systems.

Ensure all inspections align with drawings, specifications, codes, and contract requirements.

Monitor installation activities to confirm compliance with electrical designs and standards.

Identify and track inspection and test requirements, ensuring completion, accuracy, and traceability of records.

Ensure equipment used for inspection and testing is fit for purpose, calibrated, and maintained.

Issue, track, and support resolution of Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), including root cause and corrective actions.

Control and monitor non‑conforming materials, equipment, and installations until resolution and re‑verification.

Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve technical and quality issues.

Participate in system testing and commissioning, ensuring quality requirements are met prior to turnover.

Conduct and support internal and external audits of subcontractors, suppliers, and electrical activities.

Ensure adherence to witness and hold points as defined in ITPs.

Maintain and manage quality documentation and records within approved systems (e.g. Aconex).

Support development of inspection checklists, test forms, and quality procedures specific to electrical systems.

Provide quality training and guidance to project teams and subcontractors to ensure consistent application of procedures.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Contracting Authority and Governmental Authorities, on inspections, audits, and quality matters.

Support the Quality Manager with reporting, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.

3–5 years of quality experience in the construction industry with an electrical focus, preferably on heavy civil/rail transit construction projects in Ontario.

Strong knowledge of installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.

Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g. CEC, CSA, OBC, OPSS, MTO).

Understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and ISO 9001:2015 principles.

Experience with inspection planning, ITP development, audits, and NCR management.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation and identify potential issues.

Experience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
