ContextReporting to the Project's Road Design Lead / Segment Lead, we seek a Junior/Intermediate Civil 3D Designer to join the team.
Missions / Main Duties- Work with Design Lead(s) to accomplish various tasks associated with the project.
- Participate in the preliminary and detailed design of roads along, adjacent to, or intersecting with the LRT alignment.
- Undertake drafting work for civil engineering, roadway geometric design including design of intersections and interchanges, roadside safety analysis, design of pavement marking and signage, traffic staging design, and quantity calculations.
- Assist with the preparation of design and contract documents, including technical and other project specifications.
- Assist with quantity take‑offs in support of project estimation.
- Prepare reports and document project activities and data.
- Provide input to and participate in the Roads and Drainage, and Staging and Temporary Traffic Technical Working Groups.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred.
- Eligible for P.Eng. in Ontario or a Certified Engineering Technician (CET).
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar capacity preferred.
- Basic engineering knowledge in one or more disciplines and ability to perform monitoring and auditing across multiple disciplines with support of discipline leads.
- Working knowledge and experience using Civil 3D for road and civil projects.
- Previous experience on transit projects would be an asset.
- Ability to work within multi-disciplinary technical teams and maintain effective working relationships; experience with construction drawings, site work, construction quality control and reporting.
- Sound judgement; effective organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills; strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including technical report writing skills; working knowledge of personal computers and computerized applications related to the work.
- Valid Province of Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and use of own vehicle for attending project sites.
Ability to be present at least 3 days per week at the client or project office.
