Manager, Geoscience | Global Exploration

Location:

Toronto, Ontario, Canada (frequent travel to exploration and mining operations)

Our client is a successful intermediate gold producer with a portfolio of operating mines, development projects, and exploration assets across the Americas.

As part of its continued focus on exploration-led growth, the company is seeking a Geoscience Manager to join its corporate exploration team. Working closely with exploration groups across multiple jurisdictions, you will help shape exploration strategy, drive target generation, and support the next generation of discoveries across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate exploration workflows across multiple project teams, with an emphasis on integrating geological knowledge across projects and teams to drive exploration strategy.
• Ensure accurate data collection to support the development and maintenance of geological models for gold deposits.
• Contribute to target generation initiatives at both deposit and regional scales, with a focus on Mineral Resource growth and new discoveries.
• Provide technical leadership across all geoscience disciplines within the exploration function.
• Work collaboratively with exploration teams to ensure site-based programs are executed to the highest technical standards.
• Mentor and support developing geoscientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Effectively communicate exploration results and technical findings to corporate leadership and key stakeholders.
• Facilitate alignment between site-based exploration activities and broader corporate exploration objectives.
• Lead special technical projects and studies, including orientation studies where required.
• Identify, evaluate, and help generate new exploration opportunities.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

• Postgraduate degree in Geoscience (MSc or PhD).
• Proven track record of leading exploration projects from green fields through to advanced-stage exploration.
• Demonstrated ability to collect, interpret, and generate targets from geological datasets, including core logging and mapping data.
• Registered Professional Geologist or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Strong background in economic geology, with significant experience in gold exploration within either exploration or mining environments.
• Ability to integrate geoscience innovation and research into successful exploration programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with geological modelling and GIS platforms.
• Experience with 3D geological modelling software and GIS, ideally including Leapfrog, Micromine, and ArcGIS.
• Strong commitment to safe and socially responsible working practices.

• Candidates with slightly less experience, but a demonstrated drive to learn, influence, and lead, will also be considered.
