We are seeking a Hydropower
Analyst to join our Asset Management Team in Toronto. Reporting to the Hydropower Asset Manager, you will work as a member of a collaborative and performance-driven team. You will work closely with Asset Management professionals to support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and monitoring of our hydropower portfolio. Your primary focus of work will be on CC&L Infrastructure’s four hydropower assets in British Columbia and Ontario, including run-of-river, peaking, and seasonal storage assets.
Each asset is approximately 20MW - 30 MW with the operations and maintenance conducted by CC&L-employed team members. This role presents the unique opportunity to garner hands‑on experience and knowledge related to various functions of the hydropower business, working directly with Operators in the field to members of the Board of Directors. The role is expected to be dynamic, with the opportunity to grow into additional responsibilities across CC&L’s other renewable energy assets.

What You Will Do- Contribute to the full asset management process; work with internal and external stakeholders to identify/mitigate risks, manage discrete projects and enhance value across the hydro portfolio.
- Manage facility maintenance and upgrade projects across the entire project management cycle from origination to project closeout, implementing best practices in project management.
- Own the implementation and ongoing management of CC&L Infrastructure’s computerized maintenance management system ("CMMS"), collaborating with technical and site teams to ensure accurate information and effective processes.
- Develop an understanding of the strategic operations of each hydro facility to support water management and the ongoing analysis of operational optimization initiatives.
- Draft annual operating budgets for each facility, support approvals, and track spending throughout the year.
- Support the projects’ commercial activities including contract management, contractor performance, and procurement.
- Work with the Asset Management team to manage policies and procedures related to regulatory, environmental, and health & safety compliance requirements.
- Collect asset information in order to analyze and draft reports related to asset/portfolio performance in all facets of the business, including but not limited to generation, H&S, environmental, and budgets.
- Support and facilitate the implementation of preventative maintenance practices, programs, and policies, ensuring all practices are documented and aligned to best industry practices.
- Work collaboratively with technical teams and site operators to troubleshoot outages and operational issues.
- Communicate complex ideas and analyses to advisory, management, and investment committees both verbally and written.
- Attend operational, board, and project meetings, as required.
- Travel to operational assets regularly to build operational knowledge of the facility, audit business and safety practices, and support the management of critical projects and activities.
- Education and Experience: You have an undergraduate degree in engineering or a related field. You are a recent graduate with up to 3 years of related or transferable work experience, ideally in engineering, asset management or project management. Experience with renewable energy is a strong asset.

You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). You have experience with data analytics, interpreting agreements and project documents. The ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and civil schematics is considered an asset.
