Position: Project Designer for LRT Utility Projects
Join Aecon as a Project Designer focused on Utility Design in Toronto, ON.

Your role centers on delivering accurate utility and light rail transit designs for diverse projects.

In this critical role supporting the Hamilton LRT project, you will handle design drawings and calculations, ensuring adherence to LRT standards and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD and Micro Station is essential for designing reliable utility systems in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop moderate to complex designs and as-built drawings

• Work with permit drawings and rail clearance standards

• Collaborate closely with Project Engineers and field inspectors

• Provide continuous improvement feedback on design tools

• Manage project timelines and deliverable quality

Requirements:

• Educational background in Electrical/Civil Engineering or Architecture

• Minimum of 8 years’ significant design experience

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, including script customization

• Familiarity with CSA standards is a plus

• Excellent safety awareness and attendance record
