Senior Geomechanics Engineer

Position: Senior Geomechanics Engineer ITASCA North America
Lead geomechanics projects with ITASCA North America as a Principal Geomechanics Engineer based in Canada. Utilize strong expertise and client relationships to drive growth and technical excellence in the consulting practice.

In this principal role, you will guide complex mining geomechanics work and mentor engineers, ensuring high-quality project delivery while expanding ITASCA’s presence across North America. Your advanced degree and 15+ years of experience will empower you to influence decision-making that enhances safety and mine performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide senior technical leadership on mining geomechanics projects

• Guide studies on slope stability and underground stability

• Review and challenge technical assumptions and modeling approaches

• Serve as trusted advisor for defensible client decision-making

• Develop client relationships and lead proposals

Requirements:

• Advanced degree in a relevant engineering field

• Minimum 15 years in mining geomechanics or operational work

• Strong understanding of mining environments

• Professional Engineer designation required

• Excellent client-facing communication skills
