Description
The Estimator is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to contribute his/her experience and expertise in the area of estimating. The Estimator prepares quotations based on reviewing construction drawings and specifications and provides support and assistance to his coworkers in a team environment.
Task & Responsibilities- Preparation of quotations based on reviewing construction drawings and specifications
- Lay out of fire protection systems, including but not limited to: sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire pump and special fire suppression systems in accordance with codes.
- Produce a quantity take off list of material, labour and other construction factors to produce a cost estimate.
- Preparation of a detailed quotation letter to send to customer(s) in a competitive situation.
- Communication with General Contractors, Engineers, Architects and Owners.
- Complete site visits to determine existing conditions
- Meet with clients and build customer relationships
- Well versed in sprinkler system design
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field
- Educational background in Fire Protection or similar field is an asset
- Sound knowledge of the relevant and applicable Ontario codes and NFPA
- Superior math and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A proven track record of working well within a team
- The desire/passion to learn and hone your skill‑set
- The ability to work autonomously
- A dedicated work ethic
- A valid driver’s license
