Job Description
Working as part of a cross‑functional team, you lead RDQ activities to complete packaging design and deployment for innovation, growth, and productivity projects across multiple geographies, emphasizing the delivery of the desired consumer experience.
How you will contributeIndependently coordinate technical work for projects in line with RDQ, marketing, and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. Determine appropriate packaging specification information using sampling, supplier management, pilot‑plant, and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. Develop packaging design, specifications, scale‑up, commissioning, and plan for effective resource use, including external agencies and suppliers. Use your understanding of equipment design and manufacturing processes to ensure packaging specifications are determined with excellence.
Be accountable for stakeholder management and influence decisions based on analysis and interpretation of results. Build and leverage connections internally and with the external technical community; create intellectual property to drive competitive advantage.
- Packaging development and/or packaging deployment experience, ideally within fast‑moving consumer goods or consumer packaging goods environments.
- Leading and influencing cross‑functional teams.
- Planning and delivering multiple priorities.
- Proactively identifying complex technical or business problems and creating, implementing solutions.
- Influencing senior and cross‑functional stakeholders verbally and in writing, including writing technical reports.
- Coaching and mentoring others.

This position reports to the Packaging Research and Development Lead for Canada and works with product, process, marketing, quality, procurement, finance, supply chain, and supplier teams.

- Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 4–5 years of experience in a packaging development role, including co‑op and/or internship experience.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for domestic or international vendor/manufacturing visits.
Salary and BenefitsThe expected base salary range is $84,500 to $105,650 CAD, depending on experience, skills, education, and budget.
This position is eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program.
