Overview
Project Planner – Permanent, On‑site office based, Toronto, Canada. The role involves establishing and maintaining project schedules for infrastructure projects, assisting management on project activities, and reporting.
VSL Canada, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, specializes in post‑tensioning and structural technologies across transport, energy, and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities- Assist project managers with contract and project schedule matters.
- Lead development, implementation and maintenance of integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Collect and interpret project data from internal and external sources for schedule development.
- Monitor progress, identify critical activities, and review forecasts against established baselines and milestones.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings with project team and client.
- Analyze critical paths, identify risks and propose mitigation plans.
- Include resources and cost (activity generated) in project schedules.
- Participate in the company’s lean management policy.
- Collaborate closely with Contract Manager, Finance Manager and Operations teams to support project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience, with at least one large‑scale project (≥$100M CAD).
- Strong expertise with Primavera P6 mandatory.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organization, analytical and communication skills.
- Problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Open‑mindedness and cultural awareness.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Excellent managerial and leadership skills.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to propose alternatives during breakdowns.

The compensation for this role ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 CAD annually, subject to experience and qualifications.
