Responsibilities
  • POP Installation & Upgrades: Lead the physical deployment of new POP sites and the expansion of existing facilities, including site surveys, equipment positioning, and managing build-outs.
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee critical facility systems: power (AC & DC, UPS, batteries, backup generators), climate (HVAC & CRAC units), and cabling (fiber pathways, patch panels, cable ladder systems).
  • Vendor & Contractor Management: Supervise third‑party technicians, electricians, and riggers to ensure work meets industry standards such as NEBS and BICSI.
  • Site Audits: Conduct regular inspections of POP sites to ensure safety compliance, physical security, and environmental health.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor space, power, and cooling utilization to trigger expansion projects before capacity limits are reached.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate as‑built documentation, rack elevation diagrams, and power schematics.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience: 3–5+ years in telecom facilities management, data‑center operations, or ISP infrastructure.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of DC power plants (–48 V), grounding/bonding, and fiber‑optic standards (single‑mode / multimode).
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple site builds simultaneously under tight schedules.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to travel to sites, climb ladders, and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Leadership: Strong management and leadership skills with solid decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Safety‑First Mindset: Adherence to NEBS or equivalent carrier‑grade standards.
  • Supply‑Chain Management: Experience managing the supply chain of physical gear (racks, PDUs, cabling) to prevent delays.
What You Bring
  • Basic skills in AutoCAD for creating simple installation diagrams and floor plans.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills; ability to give concise, data‑driven status updates to leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as BICSI, CDCP, or PMP.
  • Experience with DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) software.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and fire suppression systems (FM‑200 / Novec 1230).
  • Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
