Responsibilities- Lead RDQ activities to complete process design and deployment for innovation, growth, and cost optimization across multiple geographies.
- Work independently to lead technical work across multiple projects aligned with RDQ, marketing, and manufacturing requirements.
- Communicate status and risks effectively to stakeholders.
- Generate process information using modelling and simulation, and oversee pilot plant scale‑up and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP.
- Lead activities related to process design, specifications, scale‑up, and commissioning, ensuring effective use of resources, including external agencies.
- Manage stakeholders and influence decisions based on data analysis and interpretation of results.
- Create and maintain accurate, consumer‑centric process specifications and develop intellectual property that provides a competitive advantage.
- Coach and mentor others within the process community, continually championing the consumer.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams on Integrated Initiative Management (iim) projects from initiation to completion.
- Partner with finance and engineering on project budgets, capital expenditure planning, and cost analysis.
- Establish and uphold manufacturing standards across all production facilities.
- 57+ years of experience in RDQ product/process development, supply chain manufacturing, or engineering.
- Strong understanding of process design and its impact on product attributes, ideally with hands‑on confectionery manufacturing experience.
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex process and product quality issues.
- Experience planning and executing scale‑up trials at food manufacturing facilities.
- Experience with capital expenditure projects, including commissioning of new process equipment and production lines.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Deep expertise in food science, process engineering, and manufacturing technologies.
- Strong business acumen, connecting technical decisions with business outcomes and financial impact.
- Project management skills; able to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects with competing priorities.
- Prioritization, planning, and clear, actionable project timelines.
- Drive for results, consistently delivering outcomes with urgency and accountability.
- Organizational agility and ability to navigate complex structures and leverage internal networks.
- Proactive, transparent communication with stakeholders at all levels.
- Courage to take independent positions and make difficult recommendations when necessary.
Up to 30% travel across Canada, Mexico, the United States, and Turkey.
Salary and BenefitsThe expected base salary range for this position is CAD 93,300 to 116,650, depending on experience, skills, education, and budget. The role is eligible for a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 10% of base salary and potential for over achievement. Additional benefits include health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave, education programs, and enhanced vacation and holiday entitlements.
