In this critical role, you will contribute to the Provincial electricity system by developing integrated plans that guarantee affordability and sustainability. You’ll conduct complex analyses, evaluate system needs, and engage stakeholders to align on optimal solutions. Your work will primarily revolve around short-term forecasts while mentoring junior staff and refining analytical tools, aiding decision-making in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze current and future electricity demand and constraints
• Conduct technical and economic assessments for planning
• Build models and forecasting tools to support decisions
• Research industry trends to enhance planning methodologies
• Provide mentoring and quality control to junior staff
Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering, Science, or relevant field
• 6-8 years of experience in power system planning
• Proficiency in statistical methods and programming
• Experience in the Ontario electricity sector preferred
• Strong understanding of electricity market dynamics
