Intermediate Transportion Engineer

Role description:

We are currently seeking an intermediate Road Designer for our Waterloo-ON office. This position will provide technical support and services to the Traffic Engineering / Transportation Planning team, helping define the cities of tomorrow.

Role accountabilities:

In this role you will work on water, storm water, and sanitary sewer designs and LID applications & processes. You will be responsible for traffic and roundabout design and understand active transportation principles. You will do utility coordination, environmental assessment / approvals, roadway construction tender preparation, estimates and specifications. This person will conduct traffic impact studies including collecting transportation data, building traffic analysis models, and performing traffic analysis.

You will conduct parking studies including reviewing municipal policy, calculating parking utilization and demand rates, perform site visits, and formulating parking supply recommendations. You will work on roadway conceptual/functional designs, including preparing cross-sections and plan view drawings based on the study outcomes and project objectives. You will also assist with preparing proposals, budgets and schedules in addition to coordinating with other design disciplines, offices and staff.

For some assignments you will help manage data collection by third parities and liaise with clients and the public.

Qualifications &

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a focus on Road Design5+ or more years of experience that includes technical and business development experience in road design, traffic engineering and transportation planning

Experience in managing small projects and studies would be welcome

Ability in AutoCAD and CIVIL3D at a basic level is required; additional skill would be beneficial

Municipal geometric design standards and GIS is beneficial

The salary range for this position is $80,080 - $100,100. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.#LI-HS1#LI-Hybrid
