Electrical Engineer in Energy Systems

Join Arup's Energy Engineering Team as an Electrical Engineer based in Calgary or Toronto. This role focuses on renewable energy design, particularly solar and battery systems.

As part of the North Geography EEPS Team, you'll engage in detailed design and analytical studies for renewable energy projects. Ideal candidates should possess experience in solar photovoltaic systems and wind energy, contributing to impactful client outcomes. Your collaboration with interdisciplinary teams will ensure quality deliverables across various engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare electrical designs for Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage

• Conduct grounding/earthing studies and load flow analysis

• Size and optimize DC cable routes for solar arrays

• Develop solar plant design packages and technical specifications

• Perform energy production estimates and system evaluations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering

• Minimum of 4 years in renewable energy field

• Strong verbal and technical writing skills

• Familiarity with PV modeling software like PVSyst

• Working towards a P.Eng license
